L’Arc~en~Ciel to release a new single in October

 

Rock band L’Arc~en~Ciel has just announced that they’ll be releasing a new single, titled “XXX (Kiss Kiss Kiss)”, on October 12th!
Written and composed by hyde, this will be the band’s second single of their 20th anniversary year. The coupling track will be a brand new version of their previous hit song, “I’m so happy“.
The single will come in both limited and regular editions, with the limited edition including a video clips DVD.
Prior to the release, “XXX” will be available on Chaku-Uta starting September 14th.

SUGIZO (the legend of v-kei) announces new tour for December

 

The opening dates of SUGIZO’s long-awaited solo live tour have finally been revealed!
The tour has been titled “SUGIZO TOUR 2011 STAIRWAY to The FLOWER OF LIFE“, and it’ll kick off in late December. SUGIZO will make his rounds around Japan before heading overseas for performances in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

MIYAVI’s first collaboration single will feature KREVA!

 

Rock star MIYAVI has announced that he will be working with rapper KREVA, on the first single of his collaboration project.
Under the name “MIYAVI vs KREVA“, the new single, “STRONG“, will be released on October 5th. The lead song is said to be a ’strong’ track with MIYAVI’s slap guitar and powerful lyrics. Kameda Seiji has been appointed as the producer, and BOBO will continue to play drums. Additionally, different versions of the song will be included in the limited and regular editions of the single.

Morning Musume’s Michishige Sayumi to voice act for “Dragon Nest”

 

 

It’s been reported that Morning Musume member Michishige Sayumi will be lending her voice to the new character, “Haloli“, for the online game, “Dragon Nest“. On August 15th, Michishige, talento Okamoto Natsuki, and comedian duo Hibiki attended a press conference for the game.
Michishige expressed, “I was very happy because it’s perfect [for me], and I thought I was acknowledged. Haloli is an all-time idol, so I’m at the very top. Haloli is just for Sayumi. [When I heard the finished voice], I thought whose cute voice is this?” When asked how she is similar to the character, she replied, “I value my fans, but sometimes it’s hard to be an idol. I may be bringing misunderstandings upon myself, but we are alike in those ways.”
Meanwhile, Michishige presented a bitter smile as Okamoto disrespectfully said, “For Michishige to last another 10 years in the entertainment business, she only has ‘pillow business’ (sleeping around for business). Selling pillows is part of ‘pillow business’. Michishige is still a baby so she has to think about adult situations.”
“Dragon Nest” is an online game that have attracted over 5.5 million players since it first started in May 2010. ‘Haloli’ will appear on the game starting August 31st as an all-time idol.
A special message from Michishige will be available on the game’s official website at a later date.

Kis-My-Ft2’s single “Everybody Go” is the 3rd best selling debut song in history!

 

On August 15th, it was revealed that Johnny’s Entertainment group Kis-MyFt2’s debut single “Everybody Go” sold 316,000 copies and topped the Oricon Weekly Single Chart for the week of August 22nd. With this result, the single placed third as the highest selling debut song for its first week. KAT-TUN’s “Real Face” (754,000 copies sold) and Arashi’s “A RA SHI” (557,000 copies sold) holds the record for first and second place respectively.
In this down economy where not many CD’s are being sold, member Kitayama Hiromitsu (25) expressed his gratefulness with, “It is thanks to everyone that our CD topped the charts. We, as 7 members, will continue to move on forward without forgetting this feeling of gratitude!”

Just yesterday, we reported that actor Matsuda Shota will be making a return as ‘grandpa’ in the new Softbank CM for the “White Family” series. Now, the CM has been revealed!
The CM focuses on the story of grandpa, who suddenly returns to the White Family after disappearing for a year. At the end, Aya becomes dizzy from standing up too fast, and grandpa catches her in his arms.

Matsuzaka Tori and Okamoto Rei to star in “Detective Conan” drama!

On August 14th, the additional cast for the current on-air drama, “Meitantei Conan Kudou Shinichi e no Chousenjou”, has just been named!

It was revealed that Matsuzaka Tori will play ‘Hattori Heiji‘, the rival to main lead Mizobata Junpei; meanwhile, Okamoto Rei will play ‘Toyama Kazuha‘, Hattori’s love interest. Matsuzaka, who is originally from Kanagawa, expressed his anxiety over the role: “I need to do something about my Kansai dialect…”

Matsuzaka, who made his first drama appearance in 2009 with “Samurai Sentai Shinkenger”, will now be playing as Kudou Shinichi’s rival, one of the most popular characters from this series. Since he did not participate in the series’ special drama in the past, he joyfully commented, “I was extremely happy when I was picked to act as Heiji.

To fit his role as best he can, Matsuzaka said that when he “received the script, [he] repeatedly listened to dialect CDs and talked to people from Osaka” to practice. Mizobata, who is originally from Wakayama Prefecture in the Kansai region, praised his progress: “I believe he nearly got the accent down. I think I would rate it over 90 percent.”

Okamoto, who is also from Wakayama Prefecture, expressed her gratitude for her new role with: “I am thankful from the bottom of my heart that I am from Kansai.” Commenting on Matsuzaka’s dialect, she said, “I also thought ‘It’s amazing, really’. I would say it’s about 95 percent.” After receiving such compliments, Matsuzaka seemed to have become embarrassed, and muttered, “It’s going to be hard to film drama scenes after this.”

This drama is already broadcasting on air, and it was created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the “Detective Conan” series, focusing on Edogawa Conan’s teen self, Kudou Shinichi. It’s also been announced that Matsuzaka and Okamoto will guest star on episode 9.

With over 100 retweets, it seems fans couldn’t get enough of the rockstar in his natural state, and of his baby girl in particular. Ueto Aya’s beauty dazzles in ‘Big Comic Spirits’

The latest issue of magazine ‘Big Comic Spirits’ was released today, and readers had an easy time finding it on the shelf thanks to the dazzling picture of actress Ueto Aya on the cover.

Her gorgeous pictorial was titled, ‘If it’s for Aya… we will conserve electricity!‘, hinting at her newest spot in the “White Family” commercial series, where the actors don’t use any lights at all in order to conserve electricity. Looking at the pictorial in this magazine, the commercial ends up looking quite unrealistic, because Ueto would easily be able to brighten up the room with her presence alone.

The actress also talked about other forms of conserving energy, like starting to write letters again instead of emails. She commented, “I love writing letters.”

Maybe you should also rummer for your pen, dust it off, and write a handwritten love letter to Ueto, because you’re definitely going to be lovestruck after seeing this pictorial!

Weekly Shonen Jump’ reveals the main cast members for the anime ‘HUNTER × HUNTER’

Previously, tokyohive announced the anime adaption of Togashi Yoshihiro’s manga “HUNTER × HUNTER“. In the latest issue of ‘Weekly Shonen Jump‘, released on August 8th, the voice actors for the anime series’ main characters were revealed.

Though this is the second anime adaptation for “HUNTER × HUNTER”, the cast members are completely different from the first series. Ise Mariya, well known as the voice of ‘Cure Lemonade‘ (from ‘Yes! Pretty Cure 5′), will voice ‘Killua‘.

‘Kurapika‘ will be voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki, who was the voice of ‘Lag Seeing‘ (from ‘Tegami Bachi’). Also, ‘Leorio’s voice will be Fujiwara Keiji, best known as the voice of ‘Nohara Hiroshi‘ (from ‘Crayon Shin-chan’). While Namikawa Daisuke, who played ‘Prince‘ (from ‘Level E’) will be playing ‘Hisoka‘. A rookie voice actress, Han Megumi has been chosen as the voice of the main character ‘Gon‘.

Nihon TV will begin televising ‘HUNTER × HUNTER’ on October 2nd.

Do As Infinity reveals short PV for “Ariadne no Ito”

Earlier, we revealed the jacket covers for Do As Infinity’s new single, “Ariadne no Ito”. Now, we’re following up with a short PV from avex’s official YouTube channel! The song is currently being used for the drama, “Team Batista 3 – Ariadne no Dangan”.

The PV itself seems pretty simple with a few flashy camera effects and an overall red theme. Don’t forget to purchase the single on September 7th!

Hey! Say! JUMP apologizes

Japanese popular idol group Hey! Say! JUMP appeared at the Tokyo Dome City Hall for their annual summer show "SUMMARY 2011". Prior to the actual production, nine of its members met the press, apologizing for one its members' conduct which stemmed into a smoking scandal. Japanese media reports had named the member as "Member A" when detailing the scandal because he was 16. The member in question was Morimoto Ryutaro, who's entertainment activities have been temporarily suspended. The rest of the group apologized to their fans, bowing several times in deep regret.

During the pre-production press conference, the eldest member of the group, Yabu Kota (21) commented quietly "Even though it was sudden, we'd like to take time to apologize for recent events. Recently, one of our members, while still being underage, was caught smoking and this has caused much trouble to everyone. We'd like to apologize for troubling everyone and for worrying our fans." After those words were said, the members bowed deeply.

In a weekly magazine's June issue, the photograph of a smoking scene was published and after verifying that the person in question was indeed a member of Hey! Say! JUMP, their agency Johnny's Entertainment suspended said member's activities. Yabu continued by saying that he was certain that Morimoto was reflecting hard on the importance of being able to work and meeting with fans again. He also spoke to Morimoto on the phone recently and he said that "he (Morimoto) said he was going to concentrate on his studies and so I told him that I wanted him to try hard on what he's doing now."

"We received so much fan support and our goal since being active was to give everyone a dream. We apologize for breaking that dream." Yabu stated during the press conference, apologize numerous times after.

Kitagawa Johnny also commented that Morimoto was realize his mistakes and accept the punishment he was given. As to any further activities and plans for him in the future, there was no mention.

At present, Hey! Say! JUMP is working hard with the nine remaining members of the group. In their performance of "SUMMARY" they showed a much more powerful stage than they did last year, showing various acrobatic movies, flying around the stage where one of the moves they had had to train hard for for two months. They decided to put on additional performances in September at the Osaka Kyocera Dome and one more at the Tokyo Dome. "We want to apologize for breaking our fans’ dreams. We deeply regret this. We want to work hard to regain everyone's trust and grow one step at a time"
